If you're a small, independent band either based in the city of Chicago or coming through I WILL SHOOT YOUR SHOW FOR FREE!*
*So here's the asterik. I'll shoot it for free if you can 1) Get me in the venue. If you're playing a larger venue like the Salt Shed or The Vic, this also sometimes requires a Press Pass as often they don't like me bringing in a Video Camera as an audience member. So please check with the venue you're playing. 2) Allow me to upload the footage to Elysium Home Video or publish the photos that I take. I can either bring a photo camera or a video camera to these gigs. It's just me, so it's really one or the other. If you want exclusive publishing rights to the footage or photos that would be a fee, but that fee IS negotiable.
"Ok but what if I want you to shoot my show and it's outside of Chicago?" I can travel within reason, such as the chicago suburbs or to a neighboring state like Wisconsin or Indiana, assuming the space is safe for LGBTQ+ folks. Depending on the distance I may request a fee, which is also negotiable.
"Alright this all sounds fine and dandy, how do I get in touch?" If you're local (as in, city of Chicago) I ask you give me 1-2 weeks advance notice. Anything further than that, please give me a months notice.
"One last question, what can I do with the photos/video?" Up to you! Whenever I shoot a band, whether it is pre-arranged or I just show up, I always send them the photos/footage and provide a raw file upon request. Once you have them, they're yours! Use it for promotion, upload it to your channel, re-edit it however you like. When I upload to my channel all I really do is add an intro/outro and do little to no editing of the actual performance. All I ask is that you link back to my youtube channel or this website.
